Findings

Overall, there has been so much to learn while researching ErinOak Kids Centre for Treatment and Development. With four locations in Ontario including centre's in Brampton, Mississauga, Orangeville and Oakville. The location in which I chose specifically to consider is the Brampton location. Located in the Brampton East area with a population of 131,677 people, it is quite simple to imagine the amount of young children, youth and families that would benefit from the multiple and beneficial services that ErinOak provides.

With about 117,000 people from the ages 0-14 located in the Brampton area, ErinOakKids has the ability to offer multiple services and initiatives that can benefit young children and youth of the city.

As well, with about 190,215 children in a two parent family residing in Brampton, ErinOak offers Coordinated Service Planning, a program only offered in the Peel Region. The coordinated service planning is a community collaboration initiative used to coordinate specified services for families with children, youth and young people who have special needs.

Early Childhood Education Sector and

As ErinOak offers programs that deal with the development and treatment for children, it is inevitable that they will have resources to offer for the use of early childhood educators.

One of the early years resources that ErinOak offers, one directly dealing with the location that I researched specifically is Peel Inclusion Resource Services (PIRS).

PIRS supports children with special needs who attend license child care centres as well as home home-based child care centres in the Brampton, Caledon and the Mississauga areas.

As well, ErinOak provides early identification of children who may be in need of these supports. Furthermore, they are also committed to providing the appropriate resources that will allow all children to participate fully in ECE programs.

Community Capacity

Community Line Icon

ErinOak kids builds community capacity by providing a plethora of services that cater to children and youth in which a diverse and inclusive approach is used to make sure every person is served equally. As well, their services provide opportunity for their candidates to improve and strengthening individual skills which in turn, will allow for better association within society.

Furthermore, since ErinOak works closely with other associations and licensed child care centres, it offers and encourages the understanding of their vision which is, to help children and youth with physical, developmental and communication disabilities achieve optimal levels of independence, learning, health and well-being ( (ErinoakKids - Early Childhood Resources, n.d.)
